The Hunterian Professorship is considered to be one of the proudest traditional honours of the college bestowed to surgeons of eminence who have richly contributed to the field of surgery by original research or innovations. The honour of delivering the Hunterian lecture is registered by surgeons around the world as a great privilege and high accolade awarded to recognize their work. Dr.Rajasekaran delivered the Hunterian lecture during the combined Irish and British Orthopaedic Association meeting in Dublin on September 15, 2011. He is only the second orthopaedic surgeon of the country to be bestowed with this rare honour.
