Breast Feeding Awareness 2025
At Ganga Hospital, we believe that every child deserves the best possible start to life — one filled with good health, proper nutrition, and the love and care of family. In collaboration with Smile Train NGO, we marked World Breastfeeding Week with a meaningful program aimed at creating awareness on the importance of breastfeeding, especially for children born with cleft lip and palate.
Why Breastfeeding Awareness Matters
Breastfeeding is not only the most natural way to nourish a newborn, but it is also a vital factor in ensuring strong immunity, healthy growth, and overall well-being. For children affected by cleft lip and palate, breastfeeding can present unique challenges. With the right guidance and support, many mothers can still successfully breastfeed, providing their babies with the essential nutrients they need during the crucial early months of life.
Highlights of the Celebration
- ✅ Educational Awareness Session: Our Nursing Department conducted an engaging and informative talk on the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, techniques to overcome breastfeeding challenges, and the specific care needed for cleft-affected infants. The session included practical tips, demonstrations, and an open Q&A for parents to seek personalised advice.
- ✅ Musical Tribute to Motherhood: A heartfelt song performance created a warm and emotional atmosphere, celebrating the unique bond between a mother and her child. Parents and children joined in the moment, reinforcing the theme of togetherness and nurturing.
- ✅ Interactive Photo Booth: A specially designed photo booth provided mothers with an opportunity to capture joyful memories with their babies. These moments served as reminders of the love, patience, and resilience involved in parenthood.
- ✅ Awareness Film Screening: A short yet impactful documentary highlighted the journey of mothers and infants affected by cleft conditions, showing how timely guidance, medical support, and breastfeeding can transform lives.
Our Commitment
Through initiatives like this, Ganga Hospital, alongside Smile Train, is dedicated to educating families, empowering mothers, and breaking myths surrounding breastfeeding particularly for children with special feeding needs. By providing the right resources, we aim to ensure that every baby has the healthiest start in life, and every mother feels supported in her journey.
