The Department of Limb reconstructive Surgery provides state of the art treatment in all fields of Orthopaedic Surgery including Trauma and Accident Surgery, Spine Surgery, Joint Replacements, Paediatric Orthopaedics, Shoulder Surgery, Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy. The department is headed by Prof S Rajasekaran with a spirited and committed team of senior and associate consultants providing expert surgical care. The facilities provided in the department have expanded steadily and today it performs more than 20000 major surgeries per year and has an out-patient strength in excess of 50000 new patients and total outpatient attendance of 1,50,000 every year.
The Limb reconstruction unit of the Ganga Hospital is a “Tertiary referral centre” for all limb problems and performs the largest number of limb reconstructive surgeries in the country. Limb reconstructive surgery is the new speciality which focuses on various treatment modalities in correcting the deformity of the limbs which could be either congenital or acquired.
