Dr Ajoy Prasad Shetty joined the department in 1994 and became a consultant in 2000. Initially trained in Orthopaedics at Bangalore Medical College, he had advanced training in Spine Surgery at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Adelaide, Australia. He is involved in the research activities of the Spine Unit and coordinator of the DNB Orthopaedics and FNB Spine Surgery Courses. He is actively involved in teaching activities and is a regular faculty at the Ganga Spine Microsurgery courses. He was the Organising Secretary for the APOA Operative Spine Course in 2007 and Organising Secretary for the Ganga Operative Spine Courses which is conducted once in every two years.
