Toe & Foot Replantation
Toe & Foot Replantation
Amputation of toes and foot do happen commonly but not as often replanted as hands. In selected indications they are replanted and it is possible to obtain good result.

A 7 year old child's foot was caught in the spokes of the rear wheel of a two wheeler when he was going to the school. Being a child it was considered worthy to atempt replantation. Long term followup shows that it is worth the effort.

This person sustained amputation of both feet. Due to the delay in arrival of the patient and other co morbid conditions better of the feet was replanted. This provides him with one foot with sensation and he uses prosthesis for the other leg. This greatly enhances his inhouse mobility.
