Ring Avulsion Replantation
Ring Avulsion Replantation
Ring avulsion amputation is a special type of digital amputation. This injury happens when the ring in a moving finger is caught in a some sharp object or hook (like while getting down from a bus). The soft tissue envelope of the finger usually gets pulled of with the ring. Most of the skeleton usually remains with the body. Re attachment of amputated parts in this type of injury is a challange because the various structures especially the blood vessels are damaged to larger extent. Never the less it is worthy to try. When successfull the results are much better than other forms of reconstruction.
