Multi Digit Replantation
Replantation of multiple digits is a challenge to the infrastructure and to the stamina of the team. The microsurgery department of Ganga Hospital has successfully replanted all the five amputated fingers of a young engineer.

Amputation of all five fingers of left hand
Mr A sustained amputation of all the fingers of his left hand while testing a newly installed paper cutting machine. The accident happened at 300 kms from Coimbatore at 8.30 PM. He reached our centre with parts well preserved 9 hours after accident. Surgery started at 6 am and at the end of 17 hours we had successfully reattached all the five fingers. This case history illustrates that if the parts are properly stored and the patient is fit to travel it is worth traveling long distances to attempt replantation.
