First Aid For Hand Injuries

What to do when hand injuries occur?
Hand injuries bleed heavily. The important thing is,

‘Do Not Panic’.

Stopping Bleeding

· Cover the area with a clean cloth and apply direct and sustained  pressure. The bleeding usually
stops in 5 minutes .Do not repeatedly remove the dressing to see if the bleeding has stopped.
· Elevate the hand. This not only reduces the bleeding, but also helps to relieve pain.
· Do not apply turmeric powder, coloured liquids or cotton pieces.
· Splint the injured part.  You can use a folded newspaper or a foot ruler.

There are no Minor Hand Injuries.
Let your Doctor decide what your hand needs.
