DEPARTMENT OF DIETETICS

Department of Dietetics is a paramedical department, which forms an integral part of every inpatient's therapeutic care during their hospital stay. The main purpose of the dietary department is to provide nutritional care by assessing the patients which improves the nutritional status of the clients, keeping in mind restriction of certain nutrients as part of the therapy, by planning meals with the nutritional knowledge.

The outpatients who are all visit our hospital also assesed by a dietician.  The plan of nutritional care and diet counselling has been advised according to their medical and nutritional diagnosis.
The Dietary team consist of six dieticians who are well trained and lead by a chief nutritionist Mrs.Deepa Sathish.N. M.Phil (Foods and Nutrition) who have 12 years of service with the academic activities.She participated and presented paper at 39th  National conference of Indian Dietetic Association for its uniqueness.Her articles on Nutrition and Health has been published in Daily and weekly news paper such as The Hindu,Indian express and Bangalore Mirror.

Our dietitians also actively participated at ISPEN conference held at Mumbai and our department gets inturns every year from Avinashilingam Deemed University(Coimbatore),Fatima college for Women (Madurai) and

 We have efficient staffs for Cooking and food service and we cater not only  in-patients but also to our staffs and International Ortho and Physio Conferences that takes place at our hospital premises.The patients from Nigeria,Uganda and also from other parts of India enjoys their own food as per their nutritional need during their  hospital stay
